UPSI TESL INTERVIEW

Hello my readers!! Today’s entry is all about my UPSI TESL Interview. I would like to share with you my experience for this interview because when I found out that I had to be interviewed, I didn’t know anything like what should I do, what should I wear, what kind of questions are the interviewer going to ask me and etc… There were so many things lingering in mind and I couldn’t figure them out by myself. I was so clueless and I knew that I need some help. I asked help from my MUET teacher on the test and she told me that there will be a Writing Test, Oral Test and then there will be a group interview.

On 10th June 2015,  a friend of mine told me to check the website whether I got the offer for the upsi interview or not but I was so busy that I didn’t have time to check it myself. None of my friends who applied for the TESL course got the interview offer so I thought that I didn’t get it too. Later that night, I just felt that I should at least check it out and so I did, and I was happy that I got the offer!! I whatsapped my friends and they congratulated me on that and some of them were pissed off because they didn’t get the offer and kept asking me how did I answer my Medsi test. LOL. Fortunately, they got the UMS TESL interview and it turns out, I got it too. I was in dilemma. Should I go for UPSI or UMS? I thought about it a lot and finally decided that I would go for UPSI since I freaking love that University and it would be amazing if I passed the interview!! On June 15th, I had to take a flight alone to Kuching ( my first time travelling alone with no one besides me >.<)  and I stayed at my uncle’s house.

The next day, June 16th was my interview day. I had to go to UNIMAS ( where the interview was held) with a motorcycle, since my uncle doesn’t have a car and it took me almost an hour to reach UNIMAS. *fuhh that was a long journey.. I arrived at 7:40a.m and the interview started at 8:30am. I was just sitting alone and then there was this Chinese girl ( sorry, I didn’t get a chance to ask for her name), who was sitting beside me, She started asking me about the interview and surprisingly, we got the same course yeay! We talked about the interview and I told her since it’s TESL I think the interviewers would talk to us in English. I also told her that I didn’t really prepare anything for the interview and same thing goes to her. LOL I guess we’re doomed! I met my ex-classmate, Shikin, who applied for the art course so we just talked and wished each other good luck.

At 8:30am, the interviewers started to tell the interviewees to go to the test rooms and I went to the TESL test room *duh, of course.. The writing test was quite hard since I haven’t wrote anything in English for the past two months since I graduated from high school but I was grateful enough that I managed to get the test done earlier so that I could get interviewed earlier than the rest. I was sixth interviewee to be interviewed and I was told to go the next room for the Oral Test. When I knocked the door and opened it, there was a lady, I think she’s a lecturer. She welcomed me with a warm smile and told me to sit on the chair and so I sat there, in front of her, and..the oral test started.

She asked me to introduce myself and so I did what I was asked for. She looked at my files and gave a few compliments and then she was surprised as she looked at the recommendation letter that I got from my high school ( a friend of mine told me that a recommendation letter from school is essential to strengthen your testimonial). The interviewer also asked me some questions that had to do with TESL and these are the questions that were asked by the interviewer.

1. Could you please tell me why did you pick TESL and why did you choose UPSI?
2. Do you love English?
3. What would you do if you passed this interview?
4. Do you have any other option other than TESL?
5. Please promote yourself and convince me on how much you like this course.

Sorry guys, I couldn’t recall all of them but these are the important ones. Since you’re applying for TESL, of course, the oral test  will be in full English. During the interview, I didn’t talk in Malay at all since she greeted me in English. LOL. My interview lasted for about 15 minutes since I talked a lot about myself ( feel free to boast about yourself  because you’re allowed to do so) . I guess I was so nervous that I ended up talking for quiet a long time I think it was about 15 minutes. Some interviewees only talked for about 10 minutes or less. After all the interviewees were done being interviewed personally, we were told to take a break until 2:30 pm.

Shikin, my friend and I went to the café and we only ordered a Special Tea C because we were so thirsty and exhausted.

At 2:30pm, everyone was getting ready for the group interview and each group has 3 interviewees. (p/s they picked the interviwees randomly, okay) When we got into the room, we were told to put our files on the interviewer’s table and he started looking at our files. Then he told us to start talking to each other. We started talking to each other, introducing ourselves, talking about the current education issues and etc. The fun thing about this group interview is that we were allowed to speak in Malay since one of us wasn’t taking TESL. The interviewer asked us some tricky questions for example:

1.          Kenapa nak jadi cikgu? ( Why do you want to be teacher)

2.           Mengapa guru Sabah dan Sarawak perlu diberi lebih peluang untuk mengajar?

The rest were just some random questions and we were also asked to show our talent. I just started singing Gravity by Sara Bareilles and the other two interviewers and interviewees looked at me awkwardly  as if that they wanted to laugh LOL It was so embarrassing but at the same time it was fun since you need to show off your confidence in order to be a teacher. The interviewer told us whether we have a question to ask him or not and we just started asking things about PTPTN, when’s the result going to come out and etc.. Basically we asked random questions. ahaha We took our files back and said goodbye and then got out of the room. Fuhh, finally. I’m done with the interview and thank god I didn’t have a nervous breakdown during the interview. I went back home to my uncle’s house at 4:30pm because I had to pack things to go back to Bintulu the next day.

I really hope that this post will help you in preparing yourself for the TESL interview. That's probably the reason why I'm sharing this with all of you.

P/S: I'm trying my best to write in English because it's one of the subjects that I like. Sorry for grammatical errors. Like I said earlier, I'm still learning.

Thank you for reading and good luck for your interview!!

Trip To Sarawak Cultural Village!!!

What's up guys??!! Oh my god it's been a while and yes, I've been busy with my life
! It's been three freaking months and I just realised that I haven't updated my blog for that very long time!! I don't have any beauty product that I want to recommend since I haven't tried anything new for the past few months but I think I should give my readers a quick update on what i've been doing.. ~lalallaaalll..

Recently, I've travelled to one of the best places in my country which is a city called Kuching located exactly in Sarawak, Malaysia. I was actually going to Kuching because I had an exam for my degree.. woot woot I'm going to university!!! yeay!!!. But guys, when going to a place that you're not used to, you have to act like a foreigner!! So my friends and I went to malls and then we decided to go to the Sarawak Cultural Village. It took almost 40 minutes to reach our destination because we were stuck in a traffic so... we just had to deal with it. The village was quite far from the center of the city while on our way, we managed to see the real nature of Kuching, the green colours of the trees, the wonderful views and so on..

To make it short,we reached our destination which is Sarawak Cultural Village!! We arrived at 3:50pm and the instructor told us to go to the main hall because they would be a local dance performance and we thought we would enjoy that so we went there together. The dance performance started and I could see there was so many people watching and most of them were foreigners. I was so glad that my ethnic's traditions were being shown to people with different backgrounds and the most important part was.. they all enjoyed watching the performance because it was spectacular!!

After the dance show ended, we started checking out the houses of different ethnics and wow!!! There was so many houses and I, as a Sarawakian myself didn't know that Sarawak has one of the best traditional houses!! There's an Orang Ulu's house, Iban's house, Bidayuh's house, and whatever else I couldn't remember all of them since I forget easily *ooops my bad

If you're going to Kuching, Sarawak, I recommend you guys to go to Sarawak Cultural Village because it's a place that is full of traditions and has beautiful views of natures that you can't even imagine that you need to go and experience it by yourself!!

Review : Freeman's Facial Clay Mask VS Freeman's Facial Polishing Mask VS Freeman's Facial Revealing Peel Off Mask

What's up readers!!! What a gloomy night I'm having tonight :((( But that is not going to stop me from blogging using my smartphone since I'm too lazy to turn my laptop on because I know for sure that I wouldn't make my review into a very long essay.

Okay, let me just stop with the bad greetings of mine and start getting into the details of my review. Today's review is going to be about three types of masks that I've been using from Freeman !!!

For the past two years, I've been changing my skin care products and try a lot of different products out there. That is due to the fact that my skin's condition keeps on changing, sometimes it's too oily and sometimes it is completely dry but most of the time it's oily. Not to mention that my skin is very acne prone and very sensitive. My skin problem always becomes my biggest concern because it lowers my self-esteem and I tend to have a nervous breakdown whenever I meet someone who has flawless skin.

Ever since I started using these masks ( I think it was 3 months ago) my skin has improved slightly and this means that I have a normal skin condition right now after using these two products. My skin has never been this good since I always have giant pimples here and there on my face. I'm not saying that my face is completely pimple-free after using these masks but honestly speaking, I still have a lot of acnes but not as much as I had before I started using these bad boys.

I'll split the masks into three categories:
A. Freeman's Facial Polishing Mask Charcoal & Black Sugar
B. Freeman's Facial Clay Mask Avocado & Oatmeal
C. Freeman's Facial Revealing Peel Off Mask Pomegranate

A. Freeman's Facial Polishing Mask Charcoal & Black Sugar ( Dual-action purifying mask & smoothing exfoliant)
Out of three, this polishing mask is my most favourite mask (also works as a scrub) !!! This is because it comes in a scrub form where the black sugar can exfoliate all the dead skin cell for softness. This mask also contains charcoal which helps absorb extra oil without leaving your skin completely over-dry. The reason why I love this more than the other is because I could see the difference after my first time using it. It also has a stingy feeling when you first apply the goodness to your face because of the sugar particles but that's good since I know that this mask works really well.

B. Freeman's Facial Clay Mask Avocado & Oatmeal ( Deep Cleans & Purifies Pores)
This product claims that it is perfect for normal to combination skin but I kind of like disagree with it since both my sister and I dislike this mask. Unlike that one mask that I've mentioned earlier, this clay mask could purge dirt and oils from your pores. Eventhough it does moisturize my skin but whenever I use this on my face, it makes my skin gets itchy and I just couldn't stand it and washed it off of my face right away. Same thing happened to my sister and we decided this is not something that we would want to try again in the future.

C. Freeman's Facial Revealing Peel Off Mask Pomegranate ( Refines & Purifies)
Move on to the last mask which is the peel off mask, wait... hold on guys!!! Can we not talk about Pomegranate!!?!?!? Man it smells so good!!! I use this like two to three times a week mainly because of the sweet yummy scent like seriously I could just go to my room, apply this mask on my face and lie on my bed without worrying other things because the smell is so relaxing and it makes me want to sleep. The downside of this product is that it takes a long time to get dry but that's completely fine to me , I don't really bother checking my clock since I always end up sleeping anyway hahah. Oh, when I peel this mask off, my skin looks so dewy and glowing, which I love!!!

All three masks are not tested on animals and if you want more information about these bad boys... then you can definitely go to www.freemanbeauty.com

Review : IN2IT Gel Tint for lip & cheek

Hola, como estas?? Hye guys I'm back again with another review!!! Based on the title that I've mentioned earlier, this post is about the lip tints that I've been using frequently recently and those liptints are IN2IT GEL TINT!!

This gel tint comes in four different lip shades which are peach, strawberry, and melon. If you're not into a heavy lipstick, then lip tint is something that you might love to wear on a daily basis. Lip tint is very suitable to wear especially when you want to pull a natural make up look because it adds some natural colour on your lips, stays long for 8 hours and doesn't fade away easily like lipstick.

Unlike lipgloss or lipstick, this gel tint won't leave any stain on your spoon or glass when you're eating or drinking because it blends into your lips after you apply it. Not only it adds some colour on your lips but it can also be used as a blusher on your cheeks.

I bought two different shades which are :
1. GT 04 Melon ( Deep Classic Red)
2. GT 02 Strawberry ( Hot Pink)

These goodies have become my must-have-lip-product-in-my-purse since I don't have to bring my powder blush just to get a hint of blush on my cheek!!

If you want to apply this gel tint on your lips make sure to use the applicator and start with the inner corner of your lips to the outer corner of your lips. It would be easier to blend the gel tint with your finger but let me remind you that it's hard to remove the stain later.

There's a different way if you want to apply this lip tint as a blush on your cheek. Never ever use the applicator directly to your cheek as the colour won't spread evenly but use a make up sponge to blend them and as a result, you'll get a hint of natural blush on your cheek!!

Gosh, I almost forgot one thing about this gel tint! As soon as you're done applying the gel tint, your lips will get dry easily and to avoid that from happening, apply a layer of lip balm to provide some moisture on your lips!

Review : Inexpensive Make Up Removers

As a girl, I've always been wearing make up whenever I go out to town to buy things or just window shopping by myself. After painting my face with all the foundation, blushers, mascara and blablabla you name it, my face gets really sticky and itchy because of all the chemicals so I need to take them off of my face as soon as I arrive home.

As me may know, some of the make up at stores are waterproof so you need a suitable make up remover to get rid of them and to keep your face clean. If you didn't wash the make up properly, the leftovers might block your pores and will cause acne which I know that's not something that you would want on your flawless face.

I basically don't wear eye shadows when I go out but in certain cases, I would go for bold eyeshadow to get all the attention to my eye area and yes it's super hard to take off your eye make up. This is why I've prepared a few make up removers that is less expensive but works wonder on your face to will clean your face from getting blocked by the make up leftovers.

There are 4 products that I'm going to mention in this post ( what?! that many?!) which are
1. BIORE Cleansing Oil (RM18.90 ±)
2. SILKYGIRL Hydra Clean Makeup Remover (RM17±)
3. PIXY Eye & Lip Makeup Remover (RM12.00±)
4. IVY Naturale Lite Olive Oil(RM4.00±)

I'm going to review them one by one, alright?

The Biore cleansing oil is a makeup remover that comes in oil texture which is good for all skin types but in my case, I usually don't like cleansing oil to clean my face but it works for me despite of my oily to combination skin. It has a refreshing fragrance which I love, I'm not sure what scent it is but all I know, the scent is so refreshing that it wakes me up every time I use it! This cleansing oil does not clog your pores unlike some products that are oil-based could easily clog your pores and cause acne bumps here and there (ugh ). If you're that type of person who doesn't like the sticky feeling on your face then don't worry!  This cleansing comes in a no greasy or sticky feeling on skin after use.

Move on to second product that I've mentioned, the Silky Makeup Remover is not something that I'm happy with. :( :( At first I thought that it was a good remover since it claims that this product is suitable for all skin types, but when I tried to remove my makeup, yes, it removes all my makeup but because of the formula, my face got so itchy at night and the next day I was surprise to see that I had breakouts on my both of my cheeks. I stop using it and gave it to my sister and surprisingly nothing happened to her face after using it. (P/S: my sister has dry skin) I think that maybe this product only works really well for dry skin. To those who want to give this product a try then of course you can get it at Guardian or Watsons or any department stores.

The third product that I'm going to review is the PIXY eye and lip makeup remover and let me tell you guys about it!!! oh my gosh guys this product is amazeballs!!! I honestly love this product so bad! It removes my waterproof mascara completely but at the same time it doesn't dry my skin and I didn't get any itchyness around my eyes and lips after I use this! This product is absolutely good and I recommend it to those who wanted a good eye makeup remover without spending money too much!! love love love this remover!!!

Last but not least, I'm going to tell y'all about this IVY olive oil which is like the cheapest makeup remover that you can purchase at the department store!! This olive oil is actually a multipurpose oil which means not only you can remove all your makeup but you can also use it to moisturize your skin. I usually use this at night to pamper my skin because after I applied this on my skin skin it makes my skin feels super smooth!

Review :Mentholatum Water Lip

I recently tried this lip balm eventhough I bought this like a hundred days ago and I thought why not I share with you guys my thoughts on this water lip.

This water lip is actually a lip balm which you can apply constantly on your lips during the day or night. It's up to you.

The balm comes in pink colour which I love!! ( Actually, that's the main reason why I purchased it hahahaha ) The packaging is transparent which is good because you would be able to know whether you're running out of it or not in the future.

And now, it is time to talk about the downside of this product.
I really love putting lip balm on my lips but not this one though. It's not that I'm saying that this lip balm isn't good, no that's not the case but it's just that it doesn't work for me personally because whenever I apply this gorgeous pink lip balm on my lip, there's this kind of texture that makes me feel as if something is tickling my lips and then it's also a bit watery which feels like a lip gloss which I dislike.

Last but not least, the price of this lip balm is reasonable ( around RM12++ if I'm not mistaken ) and if you're looking for something that has a lip-gloss-feeling lip balm, this would be the good one for you!

Review : Bioré UV Perfect Face Milk

Hye again!!!! how are you doing????? This entry is all about this new thing that I've just discovered like a month ago and it's called Biore UV Perfect Face Milk. When I first bought this product, I kept on searching for the product's review but couldn't find one so I tried it on my skin. Well, I didn't like it.
But then.. something happened and I thought that I should give it a try again and... Bam!!!! I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!! wow too much excitement in a sentence lol :)

First and foremost, the product comes in a small, white bottle which is good since you can keep it in your bag and go around with it. This product can be used as a sunblock ( it has SPF 50+ PA+++ ) and face primer / make up base as well so you don't need to put many chemicals on your skin since some products could irritate your face and I believe no one wants that to happen lol.

I thought that the texture was a bit weird since it's too liquid-ish but once I've put it on my face, i have to say that it does the job very well!

Everytime I apply this on my face, it makes my skin feel really smooth and it absorbs the extra oil on your skin surface.. If you have oily skin like me, I totally recommend you this product because... Why not?? It works wonders on your face and it's all you need to get rid of that sticky face!

My make up stays for quite a long time and I don't even have to touch up. It's also not that expensive so that's a very huge plus!!

To those who are interested in buying this product, you can purchase them at Watsons or Guardian. And maybe some other drugstores out there. :)))

Review : Himalaya Herbals' Purifying Neem Foaming Face Wash

So for this post I'm going to do a review on this face wash.

I've been using this for a month and a half now and of course it gives me benefit that I couldn't imagine before.

First and foremost, this face wash comes in a foam form which is really good since you don't have to waste your time to work them into a lather. All you need to do is press the lid and then spread the foam gently on your face ... (p/s : avoid your eye area please or else... ya know what will happen .. )

This product helps prevent pimples and yes it does the job really well. I hardly get breakouts ever since I started using this product!!! woohoo!!

Last but not least, eventhough this product is spectacular there's a downside of it. If you're not on a budget, the product might not be in your favor since it's a bit pricey ( RM 38± if I'm not mistaken)
